I've lived and worked on three different continents. - Extensive world and U.S. travel; the only two states I haven't traveled to are Alaska and Rhode Island. - My main hobby is hiking. - I've tried a variety of unusual foods, and I've never met a hot pepper I couldn't eat.

Trevor Leach
I have been teaching in public education since 1999. I started my career at my alma mater, Azusa High School, where I taught 9th and 10th grade and coached football, wrestling and supported the drama dept and the school newspaper. At my next school, Quartz Hill HS, I taught all grade levels and coached football, wrestling, track, and tennis. When our family relocated to the Bay Area in 2013, I accepted a position at San Mateo County Office of Education and have been serving the students in court and community schools as a classroom teacher, mentor, and academic advisor. My spouse and I enjoy traveling, spending time with friends and family, hiking and biking in the woods, and diy home renovation. I love to tinker in the garden and figure out how things work--something that has sometimes got me into trouble, but ultimately has served me well. I recently completed a MakerSpace training at Foothill College where educators look to inject Science and Engineering principles across all the subject areas. I feel lucky to be here and I am looking forward to the new opportunity of teaching at Redwood!
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Geometry
In the Redwood geometry course, students work with the tools that will help them examine one, two, and three-dimensional figures. Students will also look for patterns and make conjectures. Students will make sense of problems, reasons abstractly and quantitatively, construct mathematical arguments, model with math, use tools, attend to precision, look for repeated reasoning, and look for and make use of structure.
Algebra
In the Redwood algebra course, students work with equations, inequalities, and functions to reason with equations and expressions. Students will make sense of problems, reasons abstractly and quantitatively, construct mathematical arguments, model with math, use tools, attend to precision, look for repeated reasoning, and look for and make use of structure.
