I am of Polynesian descent (Tongan). I was born and raised here in the Bay Area in East Palo Alto. I went to school in Palo Alto from elementary to freshman year of high school. I transferred to Sequoia High School my sophomore year. I graduated from Sequoia in 2017. From there, I received an academic scholarship and attended Utah Valley University. I moved back home when COVID struck and started working in the hospitality industry. I've always been around this school district my whole life. Whether it be through attending school, football games, boys and girls basketball games, or because of my many relatives that had (and many still do) worked for the district. So, it was pretty natural for me to gravitate towards joining the Sequoia Union High School District team as an employee. Last year, I started my journey with Redwood High School as a Paraprofessional. I was able to work with our amazing SPED team and students. Also, I was able to start the first POLY Club at Redwood and plan on continuing the club this year as well. I enjoyed interacting and getting to know our kids in class last school year. However, as much as I enjoyed catching up with the kids IN class, I enjoy it much more outside as the new Campus Aide. Through my new position I am able to really connect with the kids more. I hope to not only carry out my job responsibilities successfully but to continue to empower and uplift the wonderful students of Redwood High School.
